Scripture Memory

Brenham Bible Church is committed to helping you "hide the Word of God in your heart" (Psa 119:11).  Each month, we encourage our members to memorize a new passage of Scripture.  Below are our recent Scripture memory passages for your reference. (Scripture passages are taken from the New King James Version.)

May and June Memory Verse

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet warters.  He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.  Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

April Memory Verse

I John 4:10-11
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

March Memory Verse

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

February Memory Verse

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

January Memory Verse

Isaiah 40:28
Have you not known?  Have you not heard?  The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary.  His understanding is unsearchable.

December Memory Verse

Luke 2:10-11
Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

November Memory Verse

Psalm 100:4-5
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

October Memory Verse

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

September Memory Verse

Psalm 46:1-3
"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling."

August Memory Verse

Deuteronomy 6:4-5
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”

July Memory Verse

That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

June Memory Verse

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
